Lana Pappas Bio

Lana Pappas, Owner

Lana’s job growing up was to water the plants in the family garden with her mom. After studying at the Academy of Art and working in commercial photography in New York City, Lana came back home to pursue her first love—flora. And she’s been making botanical dreams come true ever since.

Lana took the Gardenista from her kitchen table to a design studio filled with a colorful cast of talented creators. She has transformed the workplace for some of the most innovative companies in the world. And she’s a favorite of the Bay Area’s top architects and interior design firms, collaborating on visionary projects for businesses, restaurants, wineries, and private residences throughout Silicon Valley.

The daughter of Guatemalan and Greek immigrants, Lana is proudly overseeing the Gardenista from her native San Francisco. She is committed to sharing the love with other small businesses in the Bay Area, and has longstanding partnerships with local nurseries, craftspeople, and artists.

I believe that when we combine plants and design we can help you engineer a small piece of your happiness. Plants have superpowers if you listen to them.

My Favorite Places

I’m a proud native Californian who grew up in the Bay Area. My dad says that our area is the most beautiful city in the world; like Iceland or Tuscany. I agree with him. Below are a few of my favorite places that I try to visit on a regular basis.
